Abstract:
By studying the metallogenic mechanism and metallogenic information of the typical uranium deposits in the northern Ordos basin and the southern Yili basin, the “superposition uranium metallogenic model" in the northern Ordos basin was supplemented and improved, and a uranium metallogenic model was constructed for the southern Yili basin, where the uranium mineralization was inherited in the west segments and superimposed and enriched in the stable slope, while mineralization in the mid east segments was superimposed and transformed under strong tectonic transformation”. In this paper, the identification marks of favorable metallogenic zone and metallogenic environment for sandstone type uranium
deposits were summarized based on the tectonic, strata construction and uranium sources, the identification standards of the favorable target layer were summarized as multi factor coupling, such as stratigraphic structure, sedimentary ( micro) facies, uranium source and later transformation, the discriminant standards of the favorable ore forming sand bodies were recognized as multi element coupling, such as the genetic types of sandbody, development scale, reduction capacity, lithology structure, and formation occurrence, and the geochemical index pattern of different zonal sandstone in the paleo interlayer oxidation zone was determined in the case study of the northern margin of Ordos basin. Based on the comprehensive
analysis of metallogenic mechanism and metallogenic information of the two research areas, many prospective areas for uranium mineralization were predicted, with actual exploration progress. Those prospective areas have further expanded the prospecting space for the two research areas.
