Uranium-polymetallic Mineralization Types,Metallogenic Characteristics and Ore-controlling Factors in the Xiangshan Volcanic Basin and Its Adjacent Areas

Abstract: The metallic ores discovered in Xiangshan volcanic basin and its adjacent areas include not only uranium,but also polymetallic minerals such as tungsten,tin,molybdenum,bismuth,lead,zinc,copper,iron and gold. According to mineralization elements and paragenetic association,the uranium-polymetallic mineralizaiton types were divided into uranium-thorium mineralization,tungsten-tin-molybdenum mineralization,lead-zinc mineralization,copper-iron mineralization and gold mineralization. Based on the relative acidity and alkalinity of mineralized fluids and the mineral assembladges,uranium mineralization was subdivided into alkaline uranium mineralization,fluorite-hydromica acidic uranium mineralization and microcrystalline quartz vein acidic uranium mineralization. Different types of uranium polymetallic mineralization are characterized by different ore and alteration mineral assembladges,indicating that uranium polymetallic alteration is unique. Ore controlling factors of uranium polymetallic mineralization include faults,magmatic rocks and hydrothermal alteration,uranium-enriched magmatic rocks which control the spatial distribution of uranium ore fields,uranium polymetallic mineralization is closely related to the late-stage acidic and basic dykes. Faults,volcanic structures as well as granite intrusion interfaces control the spatial positioning of uranium polymetallic mineralization. Uranium polymetallic mineralization is strictly controlled by hydrothermal alteration.
