Abstract:On the basis of fully integration of existed research achievement, this paper analyzed the geological setting of uranium mineralization and discussed metallogenicconditions such as uranium sources, structure reforming , ore-bearing stratigraphy, hydrogeology, paleo-climate and epigenic alterations. The sandstone type uranium metallogenesis is regarded as mainly controlled by the key factors such as uranium sources, lithologic composition of strata, evolution of structure and paleoclimate, epigenic alterations, etc.It was believed that there are abundant uranium sources, well developedprospecting target layer,beneficial lithologic combination structure, and favorable paleoclimate evolution and epigenic alterationsconditions.In generally, there are favorable geological conditions for sandstone type uranium resources on southwest margin of Ordosbasin.
