Abstract：Based on the geological survey and comprehensive data analysis of Jingyuan-Huating area in the
southwest of Ordos basin ， we studied the metallogenic geological background ， ore-bearing layers and the
basic characteristics of uranium mineralization of the sandstone-type uranium deposits in this area. The
results showed that the Liupanshan Group of the Lower Cretaceous was the main ore-bearing strata in this
area and can be divided into two （ upper and lower ） ore-bearing layers. Uranium mineralization is closely
related to the content of organic matter ， pyrite ， and chalcopyrite. Uranium is mainly existed in the cements
as pitchblende or residual tar uranium ， uranophane ， autunite ， and some in the form of dispersion and
adsorption. Uranium is positively related to Cu ， Pb ， Mn ， V ， Ni ， Co ， etc. These characteristics showed
that the study area has good prospects for the prospecting of sandstone-type uranium deposits.
