Abstract:The sand body in Erlian Basin is mostly of low resistivity rocks, such as mudstone, sandstone. Therefore, the vertical resolution is needs to be high to separate the low resistivity zone from the background. In this study,Wide Field Electromagnetic Method (WFEM) was utilized in the frequency domain which is an artificial electromagnetic sounding method. Through the comparison of typical geological profile with WFEM results, the middle high resistivity zones were delineated as sand body and be considered as the favorable layer of uranium. The study indicated mud sand alternating layers beneath 200 m and thick sand body beneath 600 m can be discriminated by 1D constrain inversion and linear depth correction.
